Suggest Treatment For Mild Osteoporosis
I suggest to talk with your doctor about the appropriate regimen therapy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear user
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
Ibandronate is a bisphosphonate. It works by slowing bone loss and allowing new bone to be formed, increasing bone mineral density and reducing the incidence of vertebral fractures.
Tablets are indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It is the first and only once-a-month medicine for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis. With once-monthly Ibandronate, patients would take 12 tablets a year versus 52 required with current weekly bisphosphonate treatments.
Usual adult dose for osteoporosis is 150 mg orally once a month on the same day each month.
Alendronate is a bisphosphonate too and it is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis in certain patients. It works by slowing bone loss.
Usual adult dose for the treatement of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women or to increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis:
-10 mg orally once a day or
-70 mg orally once a week
I suggest to talk with your doctor about the right schedule for you.(every day or every week tharapy) and the follow-up.(you must be re-evaluated periodically).
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Thank you for using HCM.
Wish you good health.
