Question: hi. I have mild pain on the right side of my head when I swallow. I have had it for 1 month. I did 1 week of amoxicillin, which didn't seem to do much. will this just go away by itself? Allergies have not been a problem this spring. I do not get enough sleep, if that factors. thank you. mary

Brief Answer:
Temporomandibular joint dysfunction to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HealthcareMagic.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Besides the infection you refer in the ear, temporomandibular joint dysfunction and myofascial pain may cause such symptoms.

Conditions that may affect temporomandibular joint include osteoarthritis, disc displacement, etc.

Warm compressions locally, NSAID (Ibuprofen, Naproxen, etc.) drugs use, are necessary steps to improve your symptoms.

If the pain persists despite few days treatment, do get evaluated by your Doctor.

Hope you found the answer helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
