Suggest Treatment For Muscular-skeletal Pain
Question: Hi for the last 2 days I have had a kind of prickly sensation in my left chest (very mild but kind of like when you bump your funny bone but in chest, from just under my chin to left nipple) I also get temporary discomfort in left arm, this is positional though as happens when I tense the muscle there. I've had blood pressure and cholesterol checked recently and both were fine, I am 32, female slim and smoke about 5 cigarettes a day. I have also had spasms in my sternocleidomastoid muscle 3 days ago before this tingling started. Is it likely to be cardiac related?
Brief Answer:
Muscular-skeletal pain;take ibuprofen&apply warm clothing
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
Your pain seems not to be related to heart problems, but, most probably to muscular-skeletal issues.
However, in case the pain will be more intense and will not improve, I advise to run ECG and echocardiogram to rule out cardio-vascular problems.
For the moment, I can only advise to:
- take oral analgesic (e.g. ibuprofen)
- apply analgesic cream locally together with warm clothing.
Wish fast recovery!

I had an ECG 18 months ago and it all came back fine, my blood pressure is 117/78 from memory about 5 Days ago. The tingling seems to be constantly there for 2 days with no real change to the intensity. I have posture issues. Is anything likely to have changed in 18 months EcG wise? Thanks

Following answer to your query...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
As i mentioned earlier it looks more like a musculoskeletal related problem (posture issues) and doesn't seem typical for heart problems. It's a good sign a prolonged pain (2 days) with the same intensity this almost exclude cardiac problems.
However to be more accurate a new ECG (after 18 months) is recommended.
Hope this was of help!
