What Causes Sensation For Something Stuck In Back Of Throat?

i have a constant sensation like there s this thick, mucousy substance caught in the very back of my throat, and when i swallow it goes away for a couple minutes but it comes back no matter what i do. i eat, and drink, and rub my face & neck to try and rid myself of it, to no avail. I ve done a little research and it s said to have to do with the sternocleidomastoid but i just want an understandable explanation of the causes and symptoms, and how to make it stop.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for posting your query here.
Your symptoms are suggestive of chronic sinusitis and reflux laryngopharyngitis.
You require endoscopic evaluation of nose as nose is the primary area of mucus production. Treating the cause will clear these problems. till you see a specialist I would suggest you to take omeprazole and Ebastel tablets.
