Suggest Treatment For Over Dosed Intake Of Zopiclon
Stomach upset may be due to overdose
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr XXXXXXX Kapoor, would help you in this query.
The therapeutic dose of zopiclone is 7.5 mg or 1 tablet. Some physicians even prescribe half tablets for patients with mild insomnia. Zopiclone is only taken when needed, and it is not for everyday use because of the chances of tolerance that would lead to overdosing when patients take more than the prescribed amount. Overdose of zopiclone happens when higher than 7.5 mg is taken and very fatal doses comprise of 20 tablets in very short span or a total of 150 mg.
You had taken 20 tablets in two days and at high dose, it could cause liver dysfunction, gastric upset in form of heartburn, constipation, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, vomiting etc, ataxia or cardiac arrhythmia etc. That means, what ever symptoms you have, that may be due to overdose. That may be due to damage of upper lining of GIT including stomach. Usually, lining has healing power, but some time, due to age factor or other factors, it does not heal completely and leads to gastric upset.
In case, you have further query, you can ask.

Gastro-colic reflux could the reason,
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Overdose of any drug could lead to internal damage of mucosa, that means, there are some nerve, which become hypersensitive to food or lead to increase in reflux mechanism. That could be the reason in your case. Such kind of damage is not possible to be seen by endoscope. That could be the reason in your case. Second reason, may be liver dysfunction. What ever we eat is metabolized by liver and liver is very sensitive to drugs. That could lead to gastric upset too. Third possibility, intestinal mucosal damage, which is very difficult to see even with endoscopy or colonoscopy. There is a reflux name gastrocolic reflux. It is a physiological reflexes controlling the motility, or peristalsis, of the gastrointestinal tract. It involves an increase in motility of the colon in response to stretch in the stomach and byproducts of digestion in the small intestine. Imbalance of this reflux could be the reason for dysfunction in your case.

No test to check reflex
Detailed Answer:
HI
There is no test to check reflex. It usually control by body's autonomic system, so very difficult to control it. There are certain drugs that could decrease motility like cholinergic agonists, prokinetic agents, opioid antagonists, anti-diarrheals and antibiotics. The agents that are most useful in the treatment of these disorders are neostigmine, bethanechol, metoclopramide, cisapride and loperamide. Rest, you have to discuss with any gastro-enterologist.

It can not be cushing syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Cushing's syndrome is associated with prolonged exposure to inappropriately high levels of the hormone cortisol. This can be caused by taking glucocorticoid drugs, or diseases that result in excess cortisol, adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) or CRH levels.
Signs and symptoms includes rapid weight gain, particularly of the trunk and face with sparing of the limbs (central obesity), excess sweating, thinning of the skin, mucous membranes, purple or red striae, baldness and/or extremely dry and brittle hair, insomnia, infertility in women etc.
You do not have any symptoms of cushing syndrome, so there is no need to worry about it. If you have any doubt, you can get your cortisol level done.
