I am a male and I started to get pain behind one of my breasts, directly behind my nipple and got a red circle around my aerola. there's a mass inside behind it. it hurts to the touch. the mass is above the nipple. about the size of my index finger. thank you for your time and advice.

Such symptoms may be caused by an inflammation of the nipple with an abscess formation or gynecomastia (female breast tissue appears in male breast).
The best you can do is to have it checked with an ultrasound. In case of gynecomastia hormones should be checked and testis ultrasound done.
