Suggest Treatment For Pain In Leg After An Injection In The Back

default
Posted on Tue, 30 Dec 2014
Question: I had a enjection in my back a few weeks ago for my left leg hurting as well as my butt on left side. About a week later I was trying to pull my boot off and something felt like a pop in the back of my leg, it really hurt for about thirty minutes and it was very difficult for me to walk for about three days. Since them I have a large bruse that appeared behind my knee and my leg hurts. My wife thinks I should go see if I possible have a blood clot in my leg.

Brief Answer:
Bruise are formed after injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. On the basis of description of the symptoms it does not looks to be blood clot or deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
The most likely cause is injury to the knee and it could be rupture of knee capsule or the meniscus (C shape cartilage inside knee joint) tear. This may be confirmed by physical examination or by MRI of knee.
To help you better please let me know -if you are able to make the leg straight and bend it fully?

Meanwhile my suggestion is to take rest,Ice fomentation, Thrombophob ointment application, ibuprofen and trypsin/chymotrypsin to relieve the pain and swelling.Your local pharmacist might know about these drugs.
Hope this helps and I shall be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
