Question: I have just finished 105 days of preparing income taxes and afraid I have developed carpel tunnel. All eight fingers ache and I can't form a fist with either hand without experiencing pain. Is there anything I can do to alleviate the pain and fix this? Thank you, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Wrist splinting and NSAID Medication advisable

Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,

for carpal tunnel there is antiinflammatory (NSAID) medication like ibuprofen or diclofenac available. Take as advised by your doctor. Also a special splint which holds the wrist at night time to keep it calm and give it a chance to recover can be perscribed by your local orthopedic surgeon or gp. If not successful your doctor may inject your carpal tunnel with a corticosteroid such as cortisone to relieve your pain.

Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
