Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Right Upper Back And Lower Pelvic Area

I'm on medication for chronic lower back pain and have been for a number of years.
Please provide some more information
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
Please kindly provide as much information as possible about the pain. I think they have no connection between each other, but are 2 things not related.
When did these pains started?
Where are they localized and do they radiate?
How can you describe them? - sharp, continues, muscular type. burning, dull, ect
Fro 0-10 how strong are they?
What makes them worse and what better? For example have you tried any medication to alleviate the pains?
Do you have any other symptoms?- numbness in the shoulder or arm? Vaginal discharge? ect
Looking forward to your follow up question.
Regards,
Dr. Papaqako

The pain started approximately 2 weeks ago
It's localized in my right side near my rib cage
continues and dull
The pain is about a 7.5 to 9.
Nothing really makes it better. I put ice and heat on it and I do take pain and sleep meds at night to enable me to sleep.
I don't have any other symptoms other than the pain:-(
Thank you!

Possible muscular pain
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thank you for answering the questions and for providing some information.
You have explained only the upper right back pain here and I will answer about that.
With the information I have, it looks most probably that it is a muscular pain due to your posture or a movement that might have pulled a muscle.
I would advice, other than the ice and heat, you should also use an analgesic rubbing cream that will help lower the local inflammation. Also, to lower the inflammation more and to help it heal faster, I would suggest to take Ibuprofen 400mg, 3 times/day for 3-4 days.
You might need the help of a physical therapist who can advice you exercises and hep you strengthen the muscles of the back.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know the answers of the other questions, so that I can confirm or answer more specifically. Since I don't have the access to examine you clinically, every question is important for me to rule out the cause of the pain.
Also, if you can explain more about the pelvic pain, then I can answer about that too.
Awaiting
Regards,
Dr. Papaqako

Consider doing some tests
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thank you for the feedback.
If you have numbness in any of your arms, then it may be something nervor as well.
The fact that you have no appetite worries me a bit.
Vomiting may happen, so only once its not a problem. But if you have it more often then we should consider that as a symptom too.
If you have cough or shortness of breath, then it may be a problem in the lungs.
Since you have tried to treat it as a muscular pain and it didn't work, even if it is the most possible diagnoses, then the next thing to do is to do a visit to your local doctor so they can perform a physical examination, can order needed tests (an x-ray its needed maybe and a complete blood count) and can suggest you according to their result.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.
Otherwise please kindly close and rate the answer.
