Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Tendon Of The Foot

Question: I woke up yesterday with pain in a tendon on the top of my foot which I assumed was from x-country skiing the days before. It was uncomfortable but totally manageable. In the evening it really started to hurt and be more like searing pain. It actually woke me up in the night. I did ice it before bed some. This am there is a bluish knot around where the pain is. I'm thinking of going to a walk-in clinic but wanted your thoughts. Broken blood vessel? I can send a pic if need be. Thank you!
Brief Answer:
Tendon inflammation likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached image. The bluish knot and pain is likely to be due to a mild inflammation of the tendon. Rest and hot compress will help. You can take a mild pain killer(Tylenol) and apply a local analgesic gel also. It will subside in next few days.
I hope this answers your query.
