Question: I had my left knee replaced april 14, 2015...had PT in home 3 times a week for 3 weeks and a good bend and extension..My surgeon was pleased and he said I only had to g to outpatient PT 2 times or so. I had a pain in my upper left thigh area line into the groin and he was told May of 2015..nurse thought I may have developed bursitis from the truama of surgery..They offered me a cortisone shot and I refused. I also barely ever took my pain pills. I am still suffering with that pain, have to rely on my walker and cannot get upstairs..I also need my other knee done..what do you think??? I am a young 68 LOL

SORRY BUT THIS IS another probably silly question..a few months later I could hear my heart beating in my ear on that left side,,what does that mean?

Brief Answer:
Let the hip pain resolve first.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The persistent pain in the groin can be due to an inflammation in the hip joint. Cortisone shot would have helped in reducing the inflammation. It is better to resolve the hip pain first and then plan for the second knee replacement. You need to consult your orthopedician for a direct examination. Oral muscle relaxants and a hot compress will also help.
Hearing of heart beat in the ear is suggestive of anxiety. It is not related to the surgery.
I hope this answers your query.

Thank you! Funny you said anxiety, as I have been on celexa for 20 yrs due to anxiety disorder. I will call my surgeon and try to get this pain acknowledged and followed up. I have been depressed and have given up and have not gone out of the house since October. Luckily I have many kids and grandkids who come over daily...I appreciate your insight.. suzanne
