
Suggest Treatment For Pain, Redness And Swelling In The Ankle

Question: I have swelling redness and pain in my ankle. It is much worse at night and much more swollen at night. Very painful but I can walk. Not sure if I need an x-ray.

I have studied your case and I think you are having ankle synovitis.In this condition there is pain and swelling in ankle joint. It is very common in Diabetic patients.
1. You need to apply ankle support.
2.Tablet Advil or Brufen can be taken for pain relief.
3.Volitran gel local application.
4.Ice fomentation.

Can you explain recommendation number 4. Ice formentation? Do you mean treat the area with ice?
