How To Rehabilitate A Sprained Iliofemoral Ligament?

Hi, I have a sprained left ilifemoral ligament. I will be getting physical therapy. My physician told me it was OK to run slowly in a pool and go easy on a bike trainer on my patio for 5-10 minutes. Any other info you can provide would be helpful. Thanks, Martin

Hello,

Yes, I agree with your physician that running slowly in a pool and going easy on a bike trainer is OK for you. I would also recommend light stretching exercises and using an AINS (Naproxen, Etoricoxib, etc.) to help reduce inflammation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
