Question: My left shoulder has been hurting for a few days but mainly only when i move it. No bruising or swelling in the area. Also the muscles in my legs seem like them keep moving? My mother has RLS. I have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder so I freak over certain things such as is this my heart or DVT.

Brief Answer:
does not sound like heart or DVT

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You probably have a muscle or tendon strain in your shoulder if it only hurts when you move it. While it is true that heart pain can occur with radiation to the left shoulder this is usually brought on by exercise and relieved with rest, not by moving your arm. Also heart disease is very unlikely at your young age.
DVTs usually show up as a swollen leg, not with a sensation of keeping the legs moving.
It would be a good idea to talk to your doctor about the possibility of restless leg. Use some warm moist heat on your shoulder and gentle stretches. Ibuprofen may help as well. If it is not resolving see your doctor.
I hope you are feeling better soon,
Dr. Robinson
