Hi!
Welcome to health care magic!
I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.
First of all, it is so sad to know that you have been facing all these issues lately. I would also like to commend you the way you put it together in history. Palatine muscles and all muscles of throat have to contract and relax for different sets of movements and functions with a syncrony.
Based on all these details, it seems as in your cases, you are facing issues with that harmony and syncrony. This can be due to issues with the nervous system which controls all these. In some cases it may termed as bilbar palsy or pseudo bilbar palsy. But in either case, you can not take these issues lightly, and for that you need to have a detailed examination by a neurologist for gag reflex and other sets of movements and any discripancy between those.
You also need to consult a speech therapist, who can work out with certain exercises to improve the muscles which support tongue and palate while swallowing and breathing.
Meanwhile, try not to lye flat for a while after eating meals, and sleep in a little proped up posture.
Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me maximum for encouragement before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.

Hi!
If the difficulty in swallowing exists even when the allergic inflammation settles down, you may need to get further evaluation with a neurologist and once everything comes out to be normal, then we can jump up to psychological factors. But since, you have been examined by a doctor and he has come up with some diagnosis based on his findings, I think final verdict should stay with him. So I would suggest to carry on his management and then reassess yourself for improvements.
You need to understand another thing. Difference of opinion may exist and it is a discussion, with everybody aiming at, coming up with all those possibilities which can bring improvement to your condition and you are part of the whole discussion.
