Suggest Treatment For Pearly Penile Papules
Hi doctor...
I am potential tensed about my hiv status as well even though my hiv rna came back non reactive.
So my hiv rna blood was drawn on 3/23. And got the result on 3/25. Which was non reactive.
However on 3/25 itself I was taken to ER with sever stomach pain. To add I had taken 10 200mg ibuprofen in span of 2 hrs.
The bloodwork in the ER suggested I had high neutrophil count and low lymphocytes count a cat scan was done and the report was unremarkable.
I followed up with primary care physician and did a blood work and neutrophils and lympocytes are back to normal.
However I do feel chills at time stomach cramps and my weight keeps varying from 148 and 150.
On 22nd mar i was 155 now 150.
I don't have fever and my lymph nodes are not swollen. But I feel cold and fatigue and heavy head.
So want to know during seri conversion can wbc come back to normal count??? And stay normal. Our it should consistently stay high during sero conversion.
I had last in protected encounter during first week of feb and protected encounter on 3/4.
To all std test everything is negative even the hiv rna test. This test was taken on 3/23.
Kindly advise.
HIV 1 infection ruled out. Symptoms are not specific to HIV.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM
Thanks for posting your query.
I saw the pictures sent by you. It is nothing but Pearly Penile Papules only. They would not disappear with or without treatment but become less conspicuous after late forties.
Regarding your results, You had HIV RNA PCR test. There are two types of RNA PCR tests available. One is qualitative RNA PCR and Other is quantitative RNA PCR. The result of quantitative test would confuse you by saying Undetectable viral load. If it is qualitative one, then it is alright, otherwise DNA PCR is preferable. Moreover, both RNA and DNA PCR usually detect only the HIV 1 infection and not HIV 2 infection unless it had been specified for HIV 2 also.
You had your test nearly 4 weeks after the last unprotected intercourse So it ruled out the possibility HIV 1 infection which is more prevalent everywhere in the world excepts few pockets in XXXXXXX to an extent of more than 99%. Antibody detecting HIV tests can rule out both HIV 1 and 2, only after the widow period and becomes conclusive after 12 weeks.
Nothing to worry about neutrophil and lymphocyte count variations. There is nothing specific about these counts to sero-conversion illness of HIV.Symptoms also have nothing specific to HIV.
Get well soon.

Thanks for the reply.
There are some additional detail which I want to give. I have a history of ibs but that never caused weight loss however all of a sudden this weight loss is worrying me. I do have diarrhea like symptoms, plus on and of I get tingles all over my body.
I will call up the lab tomorrow to find out whether it's a qualitative or quantive. I don't have any fever however I am fatigued.
I have uploaded some pictures of rashes and report. Want your opinion on those.
symptoms are not specific to HIV. Needs to be confirmed with a reactive HIV

Hi,
Welcome back to HCM.
Just by weight loss, fall in lymphocyte count or skin lesions alone one can not either be labelled as having HIV or even predicted to have HIV.
Only if the test becomes reactive after the window period one can be labelled as a HIV positive individual. So I advise you to be in touch with your clinician and with his/her guidance you can get cleared your doubts. Skin lesions are also have nothing specific to HIV.
