Question: I have a cyst like thing on my gooch (the area between my sack and anus). It's golf ball size and is starting to hurt. Is it best to try to pop it myself or go and see a Dr? And if so should it be a dermatologist?

Brief Answer:
Consult qualified Genral Surgeon.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have Perineal Abscess .However it needs to be confirmed by clinical examination by a qualified General Surgeon.

Start taking broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexine along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily for a week .If does not subside you may need to get it incised and drained by a General Surgeon.

Ensure to have proper personal hygiene by cleaning the area with warm water twice daily.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
