Brief Answer:
Yes,neurologist can help as following...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXX,

To answer your question, let me explain a few more things:

When you have poly-neuropathy, it means that various nerves of your body are being inflammed or damaged.
Now, what we do is to determine WHAT is causing these damages to your nerves:

- arthritis?
- diabetes?
- restless leg syndrome?
- kidney? liver?

After determining the right cause, we start treating it adequately. Various tests are required to run for this purpose:
- arthritis testings: CRP, ERS, anti-streptolyzin, etc.
- diabetes testing: fasting blood sugar, HbA1C testing, oral glucose tolerance test
- neurological examination
- liver/kidney function testing

After a very accurate treatment of the principal cause, we hope nerves get back to normality (no more inflammation).

Now, with regards to insomnia, once you'll have less pain, your sleep will be improved too.

However, taking supplements containing melatonin, magnesium, valeriana can help improve your sleep now.

Neurologist will take care to improve the status of your nerves. If the tests results will come out positive for arthritis or other pathologies, the neurologist could refer to respective specialist.

Let me know if you have other concerns.
