Question: Good afternoon!

I have a question regarding the strange feeling I have had since monday morning. I did not sleep really well, the bed was uncomfortable and upon waking up there was a "heavy head" feeling in the morning. I have had it also earlier but it has always disappeared, now it is ongoing for the third day. I took one 400 mg ibuprfen yesterday but this did have zero effect.

When I woke up yesterday and today, it does not feel right away. Yesterday it came like 2 hours after waking up, today more like in the afternoon. The feeling is not exactly a headache, what it is more is kind of a pressure in front of the head, just above the eyebrows and little further up. It seems to be also little throbbing or stitching (this makes this headache like feeling) and if the eyes are totally relaxed, it disappears. When you focus eyes again to the computer, it comes back as it was. The eye region is also kind of heavy and from time to time the face area seems kind of a warm, yet there is no temperature. I also tried to restrict computer use after office hours but does not seem to have an effect either although it might feel a little better though. Once again, it exists most of the time but there are some moments of throbbing or stitches when it comes and goes, comes and goes.

I have never had issues with headaches earlier, so i googled a bit and found it can even be a tumor (headache starting after fourties (I am 42), does not respond to ibuprofen, last for several days). Since I am quite hypohondric, can it really be the case?

Oh, one more thing. I was very obese and now have lost weight from 135 kg down to 110 kg (height 188 cm). I took blood pressure medication Micardis 80mg, which I continue to take. The reading for the last mornings has been around 117/70 before taking the Micardis pill.

Looking forward to your soon reply,

Brief Answer:
Brain tumor very unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, first condition to consider in your case is a probable lowering of blood pressure after you use Micardis, since the values of blood pressure in the morning are normal ones.

It is necessary to measure your blood pressure three-four times a day for few days in order to exclude or confirm this possibility.

Other conditions that should bee considered in your case are sinusitis related headaches, cluster headaches and eyes accommodation problems.

I don't see any relation to a tumor here, most brain tumors debut with neurological symptoms such seizures, limbs weakness, vision and speech problems etc.
It is necessary to get evaluated, as a first step, by your primary care Doctor about above mentioned possible conditions.

He may order additional tests and examinations in order to diagnose your condition correctly.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.

Thanks a million!
No, there are no any other symptoms you mentioned about the tumor. By now it cleared away a bit and somehow feels moreright above the eyes.
However I wanted to ask about the blood pressure readings throughout the day: should they be similar all the time or are there different readings OK during the day?
Once again, thank you very much!

Brief Answer:
Blood pressure should be within normal limits, small changes accepted.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

Blood pressure readings should be within normal range during the day with minimal changes.

If changes are more than 20 mmHg, it is necessary to reevaluate the blood pressure medication.

Glad I helped.

Take care.
