Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps On Face

Question: Hello Doctors,

I notice a red bump this morning. Is this a cold sore?

It's the red bump above my lip and just under mu nose.

I have gone through your query and picture. It doesn't look like cold sore. Cold sore comes more closer to lips or on lips. This one you are having is a pimple most likely. You can apply warm compress on that. Applying gel containing combination of benzoyl peroxide and aloe vera will be helpful for this.

it is the third day now..this morning it is a bit itchy. I had put some tumeric paste i made myself on the spot.

would a pimple itch though...?

Pimple can be itchy if it is infected. Gels containing aloe vera and benzoyl peroxide helps for this.

Aloe vera is antibacterial also.
If there is no improvement after using this, then antibacterial creams like Nadifloxacin will be needed.

i see...i dont think its infected or it doesnt look like it atleast. the itchiness is very mild. though i had this red bump since tuesday morning and its now thursday afternoon. nothing has changed yet would you say its save to say its not a cold sore...?

The skin lesion doesn't look like cold sore. The presentation of cold sore is on lips or on skin which join to the lips. Yours is more distant from lips. Also cold sore will come in blistering lesion. So you don't need to worry about cold sore for this skin lesion.
Skin inflammation or infection can cause itching. Bacteria present in the skin like staphyloccus epidermidis can cause mild infection also. It might take some time to heal. Natural remedies like turmeric is good. You can also apply aloe vera juice or gel.
