Suggest Treatment For Severe Chest Congestion And Sore Throat
Question: Hi. I am feeling very achy my chest is congested and my throats is sore. Can I be prescribed something here?
Brief Answer:
Viral respiratory infection most likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to viral respiratory infection. So initially rest and symptomatic treatment will be enough.
Take warm fluids like tea with lemon, warm chicken soup with pepper. You can also take chewable vitamin c and steam inhalation with inhalation capsules.
Over the counter medications like zyrtec(cetirizine) and mucinex can be taken for relief from congestion also.
If there is no improvement or there is yellowish sputum then antibiotics will be required.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
