Is It Safe To Take Mucinex DM Within 10 Hours Of Psudafed?
Today I was diagnosed with Insinuitis and for the past week I ve been taking Psudafed. This morning i took a Psudafed that lasts 12 hours at about 930am and took my antibiotics with a Mucinex DM tonight at 730pm. Should I be okay? I m mostly worried about mixing the two..
Mucinex DM contains both guaifenesin and dextromethorphan which is used to relieve coughs caused by the bronchitis, common cold and other breathing illness. Sudafed contains pseudo-ephedrine which is used to relieve nasal and sinus congestion and pressure due to the common cold, hay fever, upper respiratory tract infection or allergies. There were no interactions that were found between Mucinex DM and Sudafed.
You can take Mucinex DM at any time after taking Sudafed. Even, you can take Mucinex DM and Sudafed both together. Combination medicine of guaifenesin, dextromethorphan and pseudoephedrine is also available in the markets which is used to treat stuffy nose and sinus congestion as well as to reduce chest congestion caused by common cold or flu.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
