Brief Answer:
Lactulose/Diet/Exercise helps to relieve your constipation

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear. Thanks for writing me back.

I would recommend laxative(Lactulose solution 15ml 2-3 times today, each dose to be taken every 8 hours) to relieve constipation. Bowel movement happens after 4-6 hours after the dose.Further I would titrate the dose depending on stool output and continue for not more than a week.

To avoid the recurrence of constipation I would suggest a few tips-
a.Get enough fiber in your diet.It makes stool bulkier and softer so it's easier to pass. Gradually increase the amount of fiber in your diet until you have at least 20 to 35 grams of fiber daily.Sources rich in fiber are :

-Bran and other whole grains found in cereals/breads/brown rice
-Vegetables such as Brussels sprouts, carrots, and asparagus
-Fresh fruits, or dried fruits such as raisins, apricots etc

-Avoid fatty, oily and junk food

I would also recommend Ispaghula husk granules(available over the counter) which have high fiber content.

b.Drink plenty of oral fluids to avoid dehydration.

c.Always respond to your bowel's natural pattern: do not delay when you feel the urge.

d.Regular exercise daily walking/running helps.

Piles(stage 1) ameliorate with lifestyle and dietary modification which help to restore the stool consistency.Grade 2/3 require surgical/laser management. Consult a surgeon so that they can be examined and managed accordingly.

Hope this answers your query.
