Suggest Treatment For Severe Hair Loss

Question: Question about cause of hair loss/thinning on scalp. I noticed a couple of days ago my hair part is wider than it used to be and my hair feels thinner, especially on the top of my head.
Brief Answer:
Hair loss could be hormonal, minoxidil lotion & hair supplements
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photographs and your hair parting is not looking very wide to me.
Thinning of hair and wide parting of hair line can be due to hormonal changes.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply minoxidil 2 percent lotion on the affected areas of the scalp.
The dose is 1 ml twice daily for 4-5 months.
Besides this take some hair supplements containing vitamins and minerals.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.

What kind of hormonal changes would cause me to lose my hair? I am definitely not going through menopause yet. Hair loss does not run in my family for women. Do you think it may be possible that the ibuprofen I've been taking could have affected my hair thinning? I've read on several websites that hair loss could be a side effect of the medication and I took larger doses almost daily for several weeks to manage tooth pain. Would OTC Rogaine for women help?
Brief Answer:
Rogain can be used
Detailed Answer:
This kind of hair loss can be due increased androgen levels in the body or increased androgen sensitivity.
Yes certain medications can lead to hair loss but ibuprofen rarely causes hair loss and thinning.
Yes you can use rogain lotion.

I am not noticing a ton of hair falling, maybe 10-20 per wash and another 10-20 or so with brushing. Is it possible that my part is normal and just wider than the parts on other women? Is it possible the hair will grow back on its own if it thinned out for some other reason?
Brief Answer:
Hair loss upto 150 hair per day normal, hair can regrow back
Detailed Answer:
Hair loss of upto 100-150 hair per day is normal.
If you are loosing 20-40 hair per day it is absolutely normal.
It is possible that you have a wider parting as compared to other women which is again normal.
Yes it is possible for hair to grow back again.

Thank you for your answers and advice! It is very expensive for me to visit a doctor due to poor health insurance coverage so if I am normal I would hate to spend money unnecessarily. If anything gets worse I will definitely do so though.
