Suggest Treatment For Severe Neck Pain After A Laminectomy Procedure

Question: I had a laminectomy c-4/c6 seven weeks ago. I am experiencing pain in my neck down left arm at elbow to little and ring finger. Have electric shock from elbow to the fingers 24/7 with sharp shocks every so often. My surgeons office is a strict 6 week only pain med refill. I ended up last Friday in the emergency room for 6 hours because the shooting shocks wouldn't stop and the pain became unbearable. They gave me 5mg oxycodone 1-2 every 4hours enough for the weekend. I was on 10mg 1-2 with the surgeons office. My primary will not prescribe opiates. Told to see pain management dr. Appts will be at least a month out. Having emg test on the 19th of April. Have MS fibromyalgia and spondylitis. Can you prescribe pain meds.
Brief Answer:
We can't prescribe such drugs.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to prescribe drugs that are strictly prescription drugs through this online service.
This should be done by your primary care Doctor initially and the specialists that he may recommend.
We can advice you to take over the counter painkillers until you get your prescription.
For example combination of ibuprofen 3x600 mg/ daily with paracetamol 4 x 500 mg/ daily may improve your pain.
Rest, an appropriate pillow during sleep, warm procedures on neck also should help you feel better.
Hope I helped you in some way.
Wishing you good health.
