Suggest Treatment For Skin Problem And Fatigue

? myositis
Detailed Answer:
Good evening.
Thank you for writing on health care magic
Well there are a few questions which I would like to know to relate your symptoms to the positive antibody:
1. What kind of skin problems are you experiencing, is it rashes over the knuckles,,face and elbows or something else
2. Do you experience any fatigue in the muscles after mild exertion?
3. Do you have any difficulty in climbing stairs or getting up from toilet seat?
4. Any difficulty in combing hair
5/ any history of cough or breathing difficulty?
6. Any bluish discoloration of the fingers on cold exposure?
Anti XXXXXXX 1 is a antibody specific for myositis. That is inflammation of the muscles. But yes you need to have symptoms along with it before we can start treatment for it. Myositis and rheumatoid arthritis overlap are very common.but we have to treat the symptoms than antibody.
Also if you could let me know your medications for rheumatoid that would be helpful.
Await your reply

Significance of XXXXXXX 1 Positivity
Detailed Answer:
Good evening
Well the skin problems you are experiencing don’t seem to fit in with XXXXXXX 1 positivity. But yes the whitish discoloration of fingers on cold exposure does. It is called as Raynuads phenomeon. Due to narrowing of the blood vessels on cold exposure, not enough blood reaches the fingers.
As your XXXXXXX 1 is positive but you are not experiencing any muscle symptoms, I would still advise you to get CPK, LDH, SGOT, SGPT and Serum Aldolase levels along with a Chest x Ray done to detect any ongoing activity of the muscles which has not surfaced yet.
Just having Antibody positivity doesn't mean we need to treat it. We need to treat your symptoms predominantly. For raynauds, I will suggest you consult your Rheumatologist and consider starting Tablet nifedipine 10 mg twice daily.
If any of the muscle enzymes come positive, we will need to start you on medium dose of steroids (0.5 mg/kg). If they are normal, you need not worry about it too much
Hope the information was useful
