Posted on Mon, 27 Jul 2015
Question: My sister started having this symptom about 5 months before, and then recently it is happening continuously for last 3 days.

Symptom "She is woken up in middle of sleep, and she feels some kind of internal momentum or Motion in her complete body, including face and neck" and sometimes she has felt this problem only in the face and neck area
Accompanied by this symptom, she also has lot of sweating around this time.

She usually would take a walk and within sometime, she is able to resume sleeping.

The place she sleeps doesn't have good air circulation; so, I have asked her to sleep with windows open to get lot of fresh air.

Any hint of what this his and whom to consult for analysis on the problem, will be very helpful

Please refer to report atttached, we did this on self diagnosis basis.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be anxiety only

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern. I have seen the attached reports. There is no abnormality in them.
These are the symptoms of anxiety. Second possibility can be sleep apnea. Now, sleep apnea we need to consider in case she snores in night while sleeping. You need to mention that to me in that case.
Her symptoms represent a state of anxiety, that can develop during the sleep. It might or might not be accompanied by bad dreams.
Most often anxiety is associated with a feeling of ghabrahat, palpitations and headache.
We advice in such cases treatment with anti depressants like Tricyclic antidepressant Amitryptilline, Or SSRI like Escitalopram.
She should try to keep her stress levels low and try to be happy and should start meditation that will help her greatly.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.

Thank you Dr. The information you have provided is very helpful. Excellent in fact.

She snores during night. - FYI.
Based on the inputs what you have provided, stress levels seems to be more inclined in her case as she has to deal with lot of domestic pressure...

Should she start working on reducing stress levels directly or it should be accompanied by medicines as well?

Do you suggest us to see an doctor directly? If yes, which specialized doctor is more appropriate for her case? Can you recommend any known doctor in XXXXXXX region?

Brief Answer:
Psychiatrist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
As per your confirmation of stress related issues she would require treatment from a Psychiatrist.
Starting with low dose anti depressants with life style modification is the key.
For snoring purpose she needs to be evaluated for adenoids , nasal polyps. In case she is obese she would require weight loss as obesity can cause snoring.
I hope it helps you.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
