Suggest Treatment For Sleep Disorder Which Is Not Responding To Calmpose

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Apr 2015
Question: I was taking around "300mg" of zolpidem daily for my sleep. I started this practice from the day my elder brother left us from this world (He passed away by commiting Suicide). Now a week back i consulted a Psychiatrist near my home for help, he prescribed "Calmpose" and "Prodep". But still i was not able to sleep. So i started taking zolpidem as i was taking before. Currently i need to stop all these medicines after sometime and need to have a normal sleep as others use to have.

Could you please help me in this regard?

Brief Answer:
These much dose is not good for you

Detailed Answer:
Hi, XXXXXXX Thanks for writing through HCM.

I have read your query and understood your concerns. I have also gone through your previous queries.

My request to you is not to take drugs on your own. If you don't have enough sleep with calmpose then ask your psychiatrist to add something to current drugs.

Other options for sleep are:
-Quetiapine
-Trazodone [you were taking this before]
-Lorazepam
-frisium [this also you were taking before]

In your previous discussion on HCM, you have mentioned that you came to 100 mg of zolpidem from 300 mg, so why have you again started 300 mg dose? You should have taken smaller dose first.

Your treating psychiatrist has all the responsibility for the drugs you are taking. Without his advice or permission, you can not make changes. You were given prozac for depression and it should make you better. If your depression is not improving then you have to report it to your doctor.

How to reduce and what are the options do you have regarding detoxification from zolpidem and other drugs, all have been discussed previously on HCM. You have been given the schedule of reducing zolpidem previously and you have successfully reduce it to 100 mg also.

Don't lose the control over usage of zolpidem. You are making it difficult for you to get rid off it.

Best way to stop zolpidem and get enough sleep is to get admitted into psychiatric indoor hospital and get treatment under direct supervision of doctors. By doing this, you can not make changes in your sleeping pills because you have to follow doctor's advice. You will have withdrawals but doctors will manage that with some other drugs. You have to do this for your interest only because you are relapsing on zolpidem repeatedly.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have further query then I shall be happy to help.
Wish you good health.
