You have low "Free Testosterone" level.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting your lab test results for the interpretation.
I appreciate your concern for your present problem.
From the lab results given, the level of Free testotesterone is found be low and that could be the reason for your present problems.
It is the free testosterone that is more potent and important for the sexual characters.
Besides, the percentage for free testosterone is below 2% (a healthy percentage for men is around 2.5%) that means you should take testosterone supplements for that you may have to consult an endocrinologist for proper evaluation and to find out any underlying disease responsible for this hormonal imbalance.
The results of other lab tests are found to be within normal limits.
Hope the information given above could be useful in getting the treatment of your problem.
Wishing you good health.
I have concern with my oestrogen levels as well.could you please suggest whether E2 levels are within the normal range or not
E2 Oestrogen level is within normal limit.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Mr. XXXXXXX Hi
Welcome back to HCM.
The normal range of E2 Oestrogen in males: 15-60 Picogram/mL.
So, this is the upper limit of normal but within normal range as mentioned above.
Oestrogens are also produced in males by glands situated above the kidneys (adrenal glands) but of course in small quantities.
Hope this answers your query.
Regards.
I am interested to know what could be the reason for low testosterone.I know testosterone is made by testicles in the male body then who decides the share between SHBG and free testosterone? Is there a way to improve free T naturally ?
Could be due to low production caused by some underlying disorder.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Hi
Welcome back.
I really appreciate your concern for the lab results.
More than 90%Testosterone is transported in the plasma by sex hormone binding globin (SHBG).The remaining presents as free testosterone and it is assumed to be the biologically active, as this is the form of testosterone that your body constantly uses to support the following functions – sexual stamina, increased muscle growth, rapid fat loss, deeper voice, aggressive behavior, energy, confidence, motivation, and a host of other cool stuff.
The level of SHBG is regulated by Hypothalamus ( a hormone producing gland located in the brain).
If SHBG levels are reduced, then the amount of free testosterone can be increased in the body.
Following are some of the measures that can decrease the SHBG levels
like taking plenty of carbohydrates in the diet, nutritional supplements like vitamin D, Magnessium, Zinc are proved to be useful.
Alcohol consumption (if you are an alcoholic) should be avoided.
Hope the suggestions given above could be useful to you.
Good health.
