Suggest Treatment For Sores With Yellowish Discharge Near The Vagina

Question: I have 3 sores on my vagina. They are not clustered and just recently appeared. I also have a white yellowish discharge pouring out of me. I had sex a week ago and didn't notice anything on my boyfriends penis. There is nothing in my mouth and I also performed oral sex. I have no clue what is going on. I got tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia, I am just awaiting results. What should I do? I work at my hospital and am toembarrassed to go there.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
If possible, please upload pictures of the sores. I will be able to judge the problem better only when I can check the sores. I will be able to discuss this issue better thereafter.

Brief Answer:
Herpes, or some other STI is likely.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for updating a picture. I was able to view the sores that you talking about. XXXXXXX yes, these are sores caused by STI ( sexually transmitted infection ). Even if you saw nothing on your partner's penis, he could be harbouring some infection, which is not always visible externally.
Did you have any itching before the sores appeared?
I realize you are waiting for infection test results. I would also test for herpes.
That is always the first possibility to be ruled out. Next, they could be caused by bacteria ( Chancroid) or some other STI.
SInce you are awaiting results, it is best not to initiate treatment till you have reports in hand.
Avoid touching / handling the area.
Refrain from sex or have protected sex till the diagnosis is confirmed.
Let me know how the reports come up.
But yes, please get tested specifically for herpes.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Take care.
Detailed Answer:
YEs, please get yourself tested for herpes.
The test is most reliable when taken while you are having open sores, that is why I insist.
You can keep me posted anytime.
Wish you luck !
