Brief Answer: But surgery with bone graft is good choice. Detailed Answer: llo, I have studied your case. As per your history and investigation there can be foot arthritis which is due to avascular necrosis of navicular [AVN] [Muller Weiss syndrome]. Till time take analgesic and cartilage protecting medication like glucosamine sulphate. Diet rich in calcium and protein will help. Bisphophonates have some role in reducing AVN. But surgery with bone graft is good choice to avoid further arthritis. Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.

Thank you for your answer. You wrote: " Till time take analgesic and cartilage protecting medication like glucosamine sulphate. Diet rich in calcium and protein will help." Do you mean: "till that time?" right? Presently I was prescribed by my doct. "Meloxicam 15mg" 1x day. For my joint, I also take the following dietary supplements once x day: Glucosamine HCI 1500mg plus vit. D3. (When finished I will take Glucosamine & chondroitin sulfate.) Magnesium 500mg MSM 500mg Hyaluronic acid 100mg In trying to lower my cholesterol 150 as my cardiologist want me to take it down to 100. I have eliminated the following: Dairy, sugar, red meat, pork and grains. As of last year my diet consist of: chicken, XXXXXXX fish (salmon once x week) nuts, fruits, lots of veggies and some soy products and drink water and some wine mostly red. In addition, I take the following daily supplements: Selenium 200MCG (delayed release) Folic acid 400MCG CoQ10 200MG Chromium picolinate 200MG Vit. B-12MCG Do you think I have adeguate diet to deal with my: (AVN] am not sure what it stands for, and, [Muller Weiss syndrome]. Should I take your suggestion and include "Bisphophonates" too? You wrote: {But surgery with bone graft is good choice to avoid further arthritis.} My first doc. explained that he would remove the diseased bone and replace with a metal plate and pins. How does it compare with: "bone graft?" Looking forward to your reply. Thank you, XXXXX

Brief Answer: Explained below Detailed Answer: Hello again, Diet rich in calcium and protein will help to strengthen bone,it may not cure AVN [avascular necrosis].There is no diet to cure or help treating AVN. Continue your medications, bisphophonates can be started consulting your doctor. They will help if disease is in early stage. If disease is in early stage then bone graft will help.If there is extensive arthritis with damage of joint cartilage then you need to remove whole bone. Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
