Suggest Treatment For Stabbing Pain In The Knee After Injury

At first I was walking with crutches, but now I can manage with a cane. The only thing is I have a stabbing pain on the inside of the knee if I turn it.
If you can bare weight means that most possibly there is no fracture.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
If you are able to bare a bit of weight on the knee and it is getting better that means that most probably you do not have a fracture. So that is good.
Also one other sign that would indicate serious damage is if you have instability in the knee. Maybe for now you are not able to tell that because of the pain.
The best way to tell if there is damage that may need surgical repair later is to do a MRI of the knee. An MRI will tell for sure if there are ligament or meniscus ruptures which do not renerate by itself but need surgical repair.
Try to avoid walking a lot these days especially if walking causes pain.
Use Ice to make it feel better.
Take Ibuprofen 400mg 3 times/day to reduce pain and inflammation.
You should continue feeling better. It will need around 6 weeks to heal completely. If you are not getting better or if you feel instability then I would recommend seeing your orthopedist.
Hope this is helpful.
