Brief Answer:
I would recommend performing some tests:

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to different causes:

- fluid retention caused by possible heart failure, renal or liver disease
- chronic venous insufficiency in the inferior limbs.

I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- a cardiac ultrasound to exclude heart failure
- some blood lab tests (complete blood count, blood electrolytes, blood osmolality, kidney and liver function tests, fasting glucose)
- a chest x-ray study to examine your lungs
- a Doppler ultrasound of the leg vessels to exclude possible venous insufficiency

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
