To recapitulate: Female/60 - wants to know how to swollen leg with red irritation on the skin..
Please provide additional information for me to assist you better:
- Since when is this problem?
- Did it start on its own or there is some history of trauma, or some other medical disease or disorder like diabetes?
- Any pain, warmth or any other information.
- Please provide clear and focused pictures...
Till then I would advise you the following:
Keep the leg elevated above the heart level with some support in lying down position.
Do not apply moisturizer till the diagnosis is confirmed.
If there is itching or irritation take antihistamine for control.
Ultrasound and color doppler of the affected limb for knowing the condition and causative agents like varicose veins, incompetent venous valves or any collection of fluids and/or pus.
Further management as per the causative agent diagnosed.
Proper diagnosis is very important to give targeted treatment.
