Brief Answer:
The most important thing is to control the blood sugar level.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Your gum problem will close up in time, there is no doubt.

It is true that diabetes can cause a number of complications, including some that make it harder for wounds to heal.Anyway this do not mean that your gum will not close.

My advices for you ,to improve your gum problem are:
-Eat a healthy diet and maintaining good nutrition will help to regulate blood glucose levels and also provide the essential vitamins and nutrients to enhance the healing process.
- Watch for signs of infection.Contact your dentist is your gum do not close soon or if you have any sign of local infection like persistent local pain, temperature, redness.Discuss with you dentis if you need antibiotic treatement for your actual gum wound.
-Stop smoking to improve circulation(this improve the healing process) and overall health.

Hope this information is helpful.
If you have other questions, feel free to ask.I will be happy to help.
