Answered by Dr. Rishi (52 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Please give a detailed description of the ulcers.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I would require a detailed description of the ulcers to arrive at a diagnosis. Please try and answer the following questions.
1. Since when are the ulcers?
2. How did they happen? Any minor trauma or injury that you did not notice?
3. Are they on one foot or on both feet?
4. Are they on the top of the foot or on the sole or on both places?
5. How many ulcers are there and their location.
6. Is there pain in the ulcers?
7. Any area of redness surrounding the ulcers? or any black areas within?
8. Is there any discharge from the ulcers? Foul smelling?
9. Have you taken any treatment for them? If yes then what treatment?
Please let me know so as to help formulate a diagnosis and possible treatment. It would help if you could send us a Photo of the foot with the ulcers.
Take care,

Answered by Dr. Rishi (7 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
No foot ulcers are not caused due to emotional upsets

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Stress ulcers have been described for ulcers occurring in the stomach and small intestine wall or mucosa in periods of Surgical stress or other illnesses.
For the foot, the terminology used is Pressure sores or ulcers which some people call as Stress ulcers also. They happen in patients with Diabetes or some connective tissue diseases leading to decreased sensations and neuropathic joints of feet. This leads to unknown trauma to the feet leading to ulcers.
Emotionally caused ulcers are not known or described.

Brief Answer:
Stress ulcers in the foot are a misnomer if anyone has used such a term

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It is unfortunate that the answer is not to your liking but happens to be true.
There are no known stress foot ulcers due to Diabetes or Arterial or venous diseases or due to any other causes.
Diabetes causes Neurotrophic ulcers due to Microangiopathy and neuropathy.
Arterial diseases lead to ischemic ulcers.
Venous diseases lead to Stasis ulcers due to Stasis dermatitis and Lipodermatosclerosis.
