Question: I am a 27 year old male. I had an MRI scan of my whole spine and it was ok but an incidental finding was what my neurologist referred to as 'varicose veins' on my spine. I suffer with extreme health anxiety and am worried what this could mean. He said that it isn't significant but i want to know whether i should be worried about this and if theres anything i can do to prevent any problems.

Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your query and understand your concerns.

It is necessary to upload the new MRI DICOM images (at Google drive for example), in order to have a better understanding of your concerns.

It is also necessary to describe in details your symptoms, if any.

Varicose veins of spinal cord is not a correct term to describe any vascular malformation. ( dural fistulas should be excluded )

However, since your Neurologist didn't seem alarmed about these findings, you shouldn't worry much than necessary.

Awaiting for images and further information.....,,
