Do you have any tinnitus (ringing in the ears) or nausea ?
Anway before we come to conclusion CT brain is definitely required.
If it is normal please see an ENT surgeon who will treat you for Meinere's disease.
Please see a physiotherapist for the time being who will help you with your vertigo and imbalance.
Regarding food please avoid very sweet or very salty food , and if your heart and kidneys permit then increased water intake will definitely help.
