Brief Answer:
It could be the celiac disease.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The allergy to the wheat is also may be accompanied with the allergy to the barley, oats etc., which contains the ingredient gluten. It is called the celiac disease, the symptoms are similar to the
irritable bowel syndrome. The past history also suggests that there is possibility if the intestinal problems like wheat allergy, gastro esophageal reflux disease, etc.
The symptoms may include smelly diarrhea; abdominal pain; weight loss and fatigue. Celiac can affect just about every system in the body, including the skin, hormones and bones and joints. So the symptoms may be wide spread across these systems.
The investigations include the blood test, colonoscopy and biopsy while still on the wheat and gluten foods. Genetic test may reveal the possibility of getting the allergy in future. These tests are to be done via a competent gastroenterologist. Therefore your local gastroenterologist will know about it.
Usually the gluten free diets may keep the patient comfortable.
