Suggest Treatment For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Eltroxin
I was taking eltroxin to stabilize my thyroid for fertility treatment.
I am 44 years old. I just stopped taking the eltroxin about 6 Months ago. but I have expanded in everyway.
I have had my thyroid checked by 2 GP and they say it is normal. but my body doesn't feel normal.
My skin has broken out all over my jaw line and I have thick brown marks around my mouth area. and my skin is very painful. especially around the inside of my legs. i cant loose the weight. and it feels like my body is about to explode. Very painful. I have started taking eltroxin again to see if this will start becoming normally again. Very worried.

Detailed Answer:
Sorry to learn about your bothersome symptoms.
If the TSH is normal off eltroxin, it is extremely unlikely you have a thyroid problem. To be certain though, a comprehensive in-person assessment by an endocrinologist is desirable.
When I see someone like you in my practice, I typically order the following blood tests in addition to a detailed physical examination:
CBC (Complete Blood Count, also known as Hemogram; includes Hemoglobin, WBC and Platelet counts)
Electrolytes (Sodium and Potassium in particular)
HbA1c (Glycosylated Hemoglobin = your last 3 months' glucose average). Also known by other names such as GlycoHemoglobin or Glycated Hemoglobin or A1c
Liver function tests (SGOT , SGPT, Albumin, Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase)
Kidney function tests (BUN, Creatinine)
TSH (checks your thyroid)
Free T4 (this too checks your thyroid) Thyroid autoantibodies : Anti Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) antibodies and Anti Thyroglobulin antibodies
25 hydroxy Vitamin D levels (ideal range 40 to 60 ng/ml = 100 to 150 nmol/liter)
None of these tests require any fasting and can be done at any time of the day
