Question: A I have a VC haemorrhagic polyp, causes pain after talking, should I undergo surgery

Brief Answer: Yes you should have surgery. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. Vocal cord hemorrhagic polyp needs to be removed surgically if it is causing pain during talking as it is not going to resolve on its own. Also they have a chance to keep bleeding. Nowadays minimally invasive laryngeal surgery is the treatment of choice. In this no skin incision is required. A Laryngoscope is inserted in your voice box under anesthesia and then the laser is used to remove away the polyp. Though non surgical treatment is there like speech therapy and vocal training 7 vocal rest but they are not as effective as surgery.
