Brief Answer: Some herbal medicines Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic. From your query it seems that you are looking for a medicine that helps in losing weight and also gives you energy. In allopathy, the same drug will not have both the effects. It will either make you lose weight or give you energy. You need to understand that you do not need fats or sugar to get energy. There are safer ways like mild exercises, yoga, etc to get instant energy. Keep your energy expenditure to the minimum by avoiding exertion, avoiding unnecessary talking, etc. Also if you are losing more weight than your body can take, then also you may feel loss of energy. The safer weight loss would be 1 - 2 pounds per weeks. Keep a regular check on your weight. I can suggest you some herbal medicines. In herbal medicines there is aloe vera juice or pulp that can help you lose weight while not impairing your energy. Conjugated linoleic acid is also boasted to aid in weight loss. Guar gum has been used in India since ancient times to lose weight. Ephedra is another herbal medicine that contain energy boosters along with weight losing properties. Take these medicines in moderation. These herbal medicines may have some known or unknown side effects. Aloe vera and most other herbs may cause diarrhea. In case of diarrhea you need to supplement with electrolyte and fluid replacement or stop the drug. Apart from this, you need to know that you may regain the lost weight when the medicine is stopped. Thus if you combine medicine with diet and exercise, it will be more beneficial. Better is that you omit medicine and just stick to diet and exercise. Hope it helps. Brief Answer: Green coffee bean extract seems most safe Detailed Answer: Hi again According to safety profile, green coffee bean extract seems most safe. It contains around 10% caffeine. This medicine would be the first choice among all three listed above. Next in row would be Qsymia which has been recently approved by FDA. It does have a high side effect profile. It is available in two doses. You may take the lower dose. The drug is approved for use in adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater or adults with a BMI of 27 or greater who have at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol. Last choice would be Ephedra. Seeing its side effect profile it should be taken for short term basis only. Since all three cause some degree of excitement, these should be avoided in any type of heart problem or risk of stroke. These medicines should also be avoided in hypermetabolic states like hyperthyroidism, anxiety, high blood pressure, etc. Coffee or tea should also be avoided with these medicines. Hope it helps.
