Trying To Conceive With Irregular Periods. Done With Hormones Check Up And Having A Mild Case Of Polycystic Ovaries. Need Advise?

Question: I recently went to the doctor because im trying to conceive with irregular periods. He checked all of my hormones (tsh, lh, estradiol, progesterone, prolactin, etc..) and everything was perfectly normal. I also had a CBC done and that was normal as well. My insulin levels and blood glucose levels were perfect. Also my lipids and triglycerides were normal. Basically everytjing was normal in my bloodwork. My pelvic ultrasound came back to show that there were no abnormalities in my cervix or uterus, fallopian tubes all of that was normal. My ovaries were normal size but there were cysts on them (about 12-14 on each ovary). My doctor (fertility specialist) stated that since i do not have any hormonal imbalances or any of the symptoms of pcos (other than te cysts) that means i do not have pcos but i have a mild case of polycystic ovaries. He Said that i probably am having anovulatory cycles since my period is irregular but i might be ovulating some times as well. He said to chart my cervical mucus (my schedule wont allow me to do any BBT so thats out of the question). I noticed that the past two days i have had a lot of egg white like cervical mucus which rarely ever happens. I check my cervical mucus daily and i rarely ever get EWCM. I also used an ovulation predictor kit and it showed a peak fertility for yesterday and today. I am wondering if i could rely on the cervical mucus and the opk since my hormones are all normal. Or do the cysts affect the opk? Also my dr said i could try clomid but i was wondering if there is anything else i can do. My BMI is normal as well according to my dr so losig weight wasnt an option. I just wanted a second opinion. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Hi, undergo FGS
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Cervical mucous test is outdated. They are not relied upon. If you have got positive ovulation kit test, it is more reliable. Please have intercourse for 4 days from positive ovulation test. You stand a chance.
You both are young and have good chance of fertility. If you have irregular cycles, it is better to undergo follicular growth scan ( FGS) to know exact time of dominant follicle and ovulation which will maximize the chance of pregnancy.
If you dont conceive with FGS and naturally for 6 months, go ahead with Intra uterine insemination ( IUI).

Hi,
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
There are lot of women with PCO. You will just have delayed ovulation. Therefore you need to know the time of ovulation so that the best time to try. Women with PCO do conceive. Take the medicine your doctor had suggested. It will help in ovulation early.
Considering your age and tests you stand good chance of conception

One more question. Can i rely on the opk? Or does PCO produce false results?
Brief Answer:
Hi
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You can rely on OPK. But rates of false positive are higher. Hence, FGS needs to be done regularly for accurate prediction of ovulation if OPK doesnot give results.

Brief Answer:
Hi,
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Its your natural ovulation. This is best time to try for pregnancy. This might not be related to metformin. Try every day for next 4 days.
