Brief Answer:
Though chance is less, but should think of PCR..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX,

I understand your concern.

I am Dr. Arun Tank, infectious disease specialist, answering your concern.

Chances of HIV after sex is 0.1 to 1 % and with vaginal sex it still decreases to 0.1 to 0.01%. You used the condom. Though condom had broken you washed your genitalia immediately.

All the above condition puts you at a very little risk.

I had also gone through your report, it was antibody testing. Such a test have no values of testing at seven days period. Antibody testing requires a three month period to consider the test reliable one.

Though chance is very little but in my opinion you should think of testing for NAAT (Nucleic Acid Amplification Test) or PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction). This test is gold standard test and can give result in seven days period. You can discuss this with your family doctor.

I will be happy to answer your further concern you can contact me here or you can ask me on bit.ly/DrArun

Thank you for asking query,

We can classify HIV symptoms into the following phases.

1) Early stage of HIV, acute retroviral syndrome (ARS) or primary HIV infection:
Symptoms includes Fever, Sore throat, Muscle and joint aches and pains, Swollen glands, Rash, Fatigue, Headache. Symptoms can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks.

2) Clinical latency: It is a period where a virus is living or developing in a person without producing symptoms. During the clinical latency stage, people who are infected with HIV experience no HIV-related symptoms, or only mild ones. But are infected to others.
