What Are The Possible Repercussions Of Taking Pramipexole With Alcohol?

Posted on Fri, 24 Jun 2016
Question: What effect will the use of pramipexole and alcohol have beyond the potential of diminished motor skills such as driving? After I began using pramipexole for restless leg syndrome to get a good nights sleep, my knee joints became sore (similar to osteoarthritis). Ever hear of any connection like this?

Brief Answer:
Mainly neurological symptoms such drowsiness.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Pramiprexole use together with alcohol can result in interactions that may cause symptoms such dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Impairment in thinking may happen also, but there are no conditions such osteoarthritis or swollen joints reported after this use.

In my opinion, osteoarthritis is a separate condition and blood tests together with joint fluid examination are needed to understand better your condition and differentiate this condition by other possible conditions such rheumatoid arthritis, gout.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
