Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the query.

For this type of situation I would recommend you have a thorough medical examination. If the needle tip is still under the skin it could lead to increased risk of developing an infection.

A medical professional maybe able to extract the needle tip and spare you risk of infection.

A local urgent care or emergency room would be an appropriate facility for you to go to for an evaluation of this today.

Sincerely,

What will happen if I don't go to the emergency/urgent care dept. I have no ride. Will an infection appear at the injection site and how will it present itself?

How soon might an infection appear? If nothing happens within an approximate amount of time can I just forget the whole thing, realizing what your advice has been?

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Infection could appear within 24 hours but sometimes could be delayed by several days or more. I would not ignore this - even in the absence of symptoms - a good medical exam is advised to ensure no complications develop.
