Question: Hi,

I have been suffering from wheezings since childhood. Currently, I am using serflo 250. I use 2-3 puffs per day. Is there any side effects of this inhaler if used daily for many years?

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
Seroflo inhaler contains salmeterol and fluticasone.
Salmeterol is LABA ( long acting beta 2 agonist ) and fluticasone is inhaled corticosteroids ( ICS ).
Both are treatment of choice for asthma.
And inhaled treatment is much more safer than oral treatment. Inhaled corticosteroids has very less side effects then oral steroids. So both are very safe for long term use.
Just make sure that you rinse your mouth after inhaler use. As particles can stick to the hard palate or pharynx and can cause coughing or infection.
So better to rinse mouth after use.
No long term side effects. So no need to worry much.
