Requires evaluation if danger signs are present
Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Headache can be due to many causes both primary and secondary. As the age progress the chances of secondary headache increases.
warning signs for cerebral haemorrhage is usually defined in terms of aneurysm and defined as sentinel bleed presenting as episodes of severe headache.
In case you are having unbearable severe headache and other danger signs like vomiting, visual blurring, ptosis, diplopia, loss of consciousness, seizures or weakness , you should get evaluated by a neurologist and may require brain imaging.
In case of history of migraine or tension type headache, similar episodes may recur again.
why are you taking aspirin?
Any history of hypertension or diabetes?
Hope you found the answer helpful.

I have never had any history of headache issues before this.
I have taken the aspirin to alleviate the headache, also the naproxen and do NOT take them on a daily basis.
The headache appeared one morning while I was traveling. The room I was in had a smoke smell oozing in from the hall. When I awoke in the morning, I had pain in one specific spot on my head - the upper left posterior area. Some pain extended down my neck also but that has disappeared. The pain in my head has persisted for nearly 3 weeks now and comes and goes yet is quite sharp when present. This morning, a similar but not as severe pain has appeared on the right posterior area. I have also seen my chiropractor for usual be-weekly treatment and brought his attention to this headache. I had expected his treatment would alleviate the symptom but it did not. My concerns have increased since the pain has now appeared on the right side of my head also.
Thank you.

Hello,
In presence of stressors and absence of any red flag signs possibility of tension type headache is more likely.
Holocranial headache, Bursting type, decreased sleep, anxiety are features.
In my practice, I prefer to give amitryptiline or sertraline for headache and tackling anxiety and sleep disorders.
