Brief Answer:
It would not be an easy Surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
The surgery you are referring to is a fall out of incisional hernia or inguinal hernia?
Either ways surgery must be being offered due to recurrent Sub-acute intestinal obstructions. Redo surgery as we call it is never an easy thing to do. The surgical planes are all hard and fibrosed and they bleed more than fresh virgin planes would. It is not an easy surgery to do and there are always chances of damaging the bowel/ intestine. So the only risk I foresee is damage to the intestines which can lead to Enterocutaneous fistulas and infections, etc. Therefore, you should go in for the surgery only when you are sure that there is no other alternative. You should discuss your apprehensions with your Surgeon who is about to embark upon the Surgery and he would be the best person to help you regarding your individual case.
Do not worry.
Speak openly to the Surgeon concerned and all your doubts would be put to rest. If not, fell free to ask us any more queries on this issue.
Take care,
