default
Posted on Fri, 2 Dec 2016
Question: I have a choking/tightness feeling in my throat but I have no difficulty in swallowing. The feeling comes and goes. It relieves a bit when I eat something. Sometimes I have a slight/mild pain in right side of throat just above collar bone which spreads to shoulder too sometimes. I am also noticing ringing sound in my ears though it is not too troublesome. Please help me. What do you think from the symptoms

Brief Answer:
choking and tightness in throat

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX welcome to HCM,

Choking and tightness in throat that is intermittent as rightly said by your gastroenterologist and ENT specialist, cannot be serious. However it is bothersome.

Since you also have pain deep in your throat on right side--here is my conclusion. I think you have aphthous ulcers in throat. These are small bruises that can occur due to acidity, B complex deficiency, smoking and stress.

So take mucaine gel 2 tsf three times a day and swallow very slowly for 6-8 weeks, gargle with Alum (spit out) once a day and Boroglycerol (you can swallow) once a day, take a good B-complex with vitamin C and Folic acid. I hope to see you better.

Stop smoking, tobacco, alcohol, too much tea and coffee--if you do.

Ringing in ears is independent of this and due to the middle ear getting affected by a virus, certain medications or loud sounds. GLA a supplement and antoxid can help

Regards
